The Mechanical Technician role will provide excellent customer service to each of ADESA’s clients and perform all vehicle diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance, be responsible for documenting all work orders, assist in creating estimates, maintain and order parts as needed, and additional duties as outlined below.

  • Communicate any delays in repairs, discrepancies in repair estimates, or customer complaints to your manager in order to ensure estimates are accurate and customers are fully satisfied with their services
  • Effectively use parts currently in stock for repairs and maintain stock parts.  Coordinate new orders with vendors when necessary.
  • Test, recheck, and perform a road test on all repairs and service returns
  • Return customers’ vehicles in clean condition with radios, seats, mirrors and other convenience items in the same position as when the customer brought the vehicle in
  • Maintain and improve technical expertise through technical bulletins, trade publications and training seminars
  • Keep the workplace safe by monitoring all shop area conditions, vehicles, property, and equipment to ensure they are within corporate standards for cleanliness, proper maintenance, and safety

What’s Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ASE, I-CAR, or other automotive/mechanical certifications are preferred
  • Requires one (1) to three (3) years of experience in the field or a related area
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be qualified to operate motor vehicles with either standard or automatic transmissions
  • Must provide sufficient tools to perform the job

Physical Working Condition: This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards, such as electrical, mechanical equipment and cleaning and pesticide chemicals; and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
