About Our Candidate:

We’re looking for a skilled, technical engineering manager who excels in diving deep into infrastructure and application design, to provide technical leadership to their engineers and defines success as producing well instrumented, repeatable, error-free deployments of infrastructure and applications.  Our candidate should have experience in automation, metrics and tooling, with a deep understanding of infrastructure and cloud architecture.  Our candidate is a seasoned leader who has a proven track record for deploying infrastructure as code, automating deployments of applications and strong communications skills but also a strong history of building highly skilled operational teams.  Our leader should be able to work with both engineers and business leadership to ensure we are delivering relevant solutions for the organization as a whole.

The Challenge Ahead:

Over the next year or more we will be working on an initiative to modernize multiple platforms through tooling, metrics, testing and automation.  These efforts should result in a foundation for the future design of our infrastructure as code and modern deployment practices.  Our customers, internal and external expect a lot from us, so we demand a lot from our leadership to ensure we exceed their expectations.

  • Organized to a level that gathering and recording detailed information about operational or software issues comes naturally
  • You listen well, listening is the most important part of communication
  • You realize learning publicly is good for everyone, because the journey is more important than the result
  • Driven to advocate for technology stacks which can solve problems business is facing or will face
  • Bias for action, understanding that when you build something you own it.
