Summary:

Openlane Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ADESA. Openlane is one of the largest Internet-based B2B automotive remarketing companies in North America and we are expanding. We are a no-nonsense industry leader, specializing in the online remarketing of used vehicles.  Our product enables a variety of sellers, including rental companies, lease finance companies, and automotive fleet companies to interact with the automobile dealers interested in their vehicles. Our technology is at the forefront of both private label and open automotive auctions.  We also provide automated end-of-term and remarketing processes to automobile manufacturers, captive finance companies, lease & rental companies, financial institutions and wholesale auto auctions.

Job Description:

We are seeking a full stack software developer with experience developing micro-services. You will be part of a high-caliber development team responsible for transforming our product.  You will be involved in the design, building and management of our latest offering.  You must demonstrate that you are a collaborative team player, results-driven in time-critical environments with strong technical expertise. You will be contributing to a fast paced, test driven development environment delivering in short release cycles. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of software development experience overall, preferably using agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Create real-time applications that are efficient, highly available, reliable, scalable, maintainable, extensible, and testable.
  • Ensure the quality of the product through code reviews and a high level of unit and functional test coverage.
  • Ensure the software adheres to the company's high level of technical standards.
  • Communicate with business analysts and product owners to clarify requirements in a distributed team environment.
  • Write technical/system documentation.
  • Highlight any potential risks to the leads and seek inputs to resolve identified issues.
  • Mentor less experienced developers.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in JavaScript technologies such as Boot Strap, VUE.
  • 5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE, JSP, Spring MVC framework, Hibernate
  • Experience with Spring Boot
  • Experience with unit testing on both JavaScript front-end and Java back-end.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Oracle Database
  • Experienced in developing RESTFUL APIs following OpenAPI standard
  • Familiarity with Web Services.
  • Proven ability to analyze and optimize application performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with teams in multiple sites (onsite, offshore, nearshore).
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of accountability and ownership.

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience with Containerization, Docker, OpenShift
  • Experience with CI tools (Jenkins).
  • Experience with AppDynamics and Splunk
  • Experience with quality management platforms such as SonarQube.
